tradition & tech meet in LD seating's flexible, supportive followme chair

The Czech family furniture business LD Seating rises to meet the demands of customers worldwide with their sophisticated FollowMe chair series. The 30 year-old company has undergone a subtle but significant evolution, building upon its family traditions to collaborate with designers on a global scale. The FollowMe series combines the decades of manufacturing knowledge with state-of-the-art technology, leading creative expression and hand-crafted precision.

LD Seating rises to meet the demands of customers with their FollowMe chair series

From humble beginnings in Boskovice in 1993, chair manufacturer LD Seating has now passed on to the second generation of the family. The 30-years of knowledge continues in the manufacturing process – from shell constructions through to upholstery – but now the collections are realized alongside global designers, such as Andreas Krob, Orlandini Design , Martin Ballendat, Baldanzi & Novelli and Martin Foret. Up to 400 chairs are produced a day. Each one is versatile yet comfortable in different settings, whether furnishing coworking centers, schools, medical facilities, hotels or private residences.

FollowMe combines decades of manufacturing expertise, complex technology and hand-crafted precision

The company's new chapter is demonstrated in the design of the FollowMe series, where every aspect has been considered down to the millimeter. It took four years to develop the technologically-complicated task chair to adapt perfectly to the human body. The designer Andreas Krob focused on an innovative backrest, bringing a flexible response to every movement by the user. Another distinct feature is the elevated seat, which helps the spine to keep its S-shaped curve while someone sits, without paying special attention their posture.

With an aluminum structure that can be polished or painted black, the body of the FollowMe chairs are covered in a mesh on its rear while the front can be upholstered with gray or black-knitted fabric. The design has two standard armrest variations – fixed aluminum or adjustable plastic – and a special gamers edition with red details.

Along with FollowMe, LD Seating also boasts other task chair series such as the Arcus and Trivi chairs, both of which are Red Dot award winners. Created by designer Martin Ballendat, Arcus’ distinct arc was destined as the core element right from the first sketch. The side view of the back forms a classic curved S-shape with an accentuated lordosis and a light shoulder support. This S line and arc were smoothly embedded together to create a feminine design language.

LD Seating also boasts the Arcus and the Trivi chair

The other Red Dot award-winning chair, Trivi, was designed by Martin Foret to celebrate the simple beauty in the combination of metal and wood. The project proves that a revolutionary form is not a necessity to achieve success, as long as quality of material and manufacture are considered. Through implementing complex technologies, the brand realized a furniture design that is slim, strong yet soft and welcoming through its tactile textures.

by implementing complex technologies, the furniture distributor has been able manufacture top-quality products
